This medal has been struck by the Japan Mint only for overseas markets to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Japan Mint in 2021 which held the inauguration ceremony on April 4th 1871.
Obverse: Dragon design from the 20 yen gold coin issued in the early Meiji period with the inscription “150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE JAPAN MINT 1871 – 2021.”
Reverse: Main entrance to the Japan Mint, along by the Old Yodo River, at the time of establishment with the inscription “150th anniversary of the Japan Mint” in Japanese.
