This proof coin set is being sold to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the release of the first GODZILLA film. With the first film in 1954 as a start, it increasingly drew wide range of attentions not only in Japan, but also overseas audiences. In conjunction with this ceremonial anniversary, GODZILLA MINUS ONE, the 30th live-action film of GODZILLA series, was a huge hit in Japan and in the US nationwide respectively.

A color sterling silver medal is made for this ceremonial anniversary; Burning Godzilla filmed in 1995 on the obverse, while a silhouette of first Godzilla on the reverse side.

The coin set is comprised of:

• Six Japanese legal tender coins issued in 2024 in proof condition (a 500 yen bicolor clad proof coin (nickel-brass, cupronickel and copper), a 100 yen cupronickel proof coin, a 50 yen cupronickel proof coin, a 10 yen bronze proof coin, a 5 yen brass proof coin and a 1 yen aluminum proof coin)
• A color sterling silver medal with frosting finish processing technique (Ag 92.5%, Diameter: 35mm, Weight: 20g)*
