50th Anniversary of Akasaka Palace 2024 Proof Coin Set

This proof coin set is being sold to commemorate the state guest house, Akasaka Palace, opened in 1974, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. It was built based on the neo-Baroque style as Togu Gosho (Crown Prince's Palace) in 1909. In 2009, it was designated as a National Treasure by the Japanese government.
The Akasaka Palace has received a large number of distinguished guests, such as monarchs, presidents or prime ministers, and been used as a venue for international conferences, including summit meetings, as well.

A silver medal is made for this Proof Coin Set; the main gate is designed on the obverse with the symbol mark on the reverse side.
The coin set is comprised of:
- Six Japanese legal tender coins issued in 2024 in proof condition (a 500 yen bicolor clad proof coin (nickel-brass, cupronickel and copper), a 100 yen cupronickel proof coin, a 50 yen cupronickel proof coin, a 10 yen bronze proof coin, a 5 yen brass proof coin and a 1 yen aluminum proof coin)
- A silver medal with frosting finish processing technique (Ag 92.5%, Diameter: 35mm, Weight: 20g)*
- An explanation sheet in Japanese
- A leather display case
- A paper slipcase
* Frosting finish processing technique: A processing technique of engraving a minutely irregular surface to diffuse reflection and obtain a pearskin-like texture.
