50th Anniversary of Akasaka Palace BU Coin Set

This BU coin set is being sold to commemorate the state guest house, Akasaka Palace, opened in 1974, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. It was built based on the neo-Baroque style as Togu Gosho (Crown Prince's Palace) in 1909. In 2009, it was designated as a National Treasure by the Japanese government.
The Akasaka Palace has received a large number of distinguished guests, such as monarchs, presidents or prime ministers, and been used as a venue for international conferences, including summit meetings, as well.

A red brass medal is made for this BU Coin Set; the main gate is designed on the obverse with the symbol mark on the reverse side.
This set is comprised of:
- Six Japanese legal tender coins issued in 2024 in brilliant uncirculated condition (a 500 yen bicolor clad coin (nickel brass, cupronickel and copper), a 100 yen cupronickel coin nickel brass coin, a 100 yen cupronickel coin, a 50 yen cupronickel coin, a 10 yen bronze coin, a 5 yen brass coin and a 1 yen aluminum coin)
- A red brass medal (Size: 27mm, Weight: approx. 7.5g)
- A special paper holder
- A slip case
