World Heritage Coin Sets 5. The Shirakami Mountains
This area, registered as a world heritage, is vast spreading into both Aomori and Akita prefectures (north district in Japan). It is surrounded by Mount Shirakamidake (height 1,232m), Mount Mukaishirakamidake (1,243m), Mount Futatsumori (1,086m) and Mount Kodake (1,042m) as well as other grand and beautiful mountains. This area receives heavy snowfall. It is the source of many streams and rivers such as the River Oirase, the River Akaishi, the River Kasuke and others.
