Japan Mint has released Ito Hirobumi Pure Silver Medallion. Ito Hirobumi was one of the Meiji era (1868-1912)'s most famous statesmen and the first Prime Minister of Japan. He was assassinated 100 years ago in 1909.
The obverse side of the medallion features his portrait, while the reverse side features the design of his favorite seal. 1,000 yen bill issued from 1963 to 1984 also features his portrait.
